Default Car Horn

Hey RX family,

I've been considering changing my car horn (safety reasons), and it occurred to me that customarily, people only have two horns, max. Besides the electrical draw of using a horn, are there other reasons that people don't install any more than two? Thanks!

the reason for two is one is a high pitch, one is a low pitch.

it would be easy to wire in a different one, perhaps an air horn, or one of a tug boat

I get having two. I hate the sound of one horn like most other people, but what I want to know is why not wire three? I'm looking into the PIAA Superior Bass horn, but I'm also loosely considering filling it out a little by keeping the lower frequency of the two horns that come factory-installed.

My horn is working fine, except that where I tend to drive, it isn't different enough for people to heed it (too much horn usage makes most OEM horns just part of everyday noise). I was just suddenly interested in the occurrence that nobody seems to use a third horn. I'm a musician, so this likely tickled me more than it would any other person.

interesting,

if you are handy at all, all you would need to do is, splice into the wires up front and add the third horn.

Consider the Nautilus air horn by Stebel. I installed one on my Miata. It is a self contained two tone air horn that was actually designed for motorcycles. Very loud and distinctive sound with no delay.
