I'll preface my post saying that I do not currently own a Lexus but have recently purchased a 2010 highlander SE with the 2GR-FE V6 engine. I'm pretty sure I have the cold engine piston slap that I have read was fairly common on the 2007+ RX350s.
I had one dealer diagnose it as predetonation and do a de-carb which didn't change a thing. Another dealer said it was a normal characteristic of the V6.
I don't mean to bring up a topic that has been discussed numerous times on this forum, but am wondering if now that several years and miles have gone by has anyone experienced any detrimental effects to their engines? Any abnormal oil consumption, etc.?
Thanks!
