Thoughts, suggestions
Hello,
I wanted to get some insite into two error codes. The first code, p0128-thermostat, happened in early February- it was -20 C outside. I used my scan tool the code cleared and nothing since then.
Yesterday, it was about 3C outside and when I started the RX the error code p0453, evaporator code, was displayed. I too cleared this code with the scan tool.
Any ideas?

Sometimes codes can be tripped with no real reasoning. best bet, which you did, is to clear the code and see if it returns. if it returns, you know you have a legitimate issue.
keep in mind, you can have codes without the light being on. so if you really wanted to, you could check weekly.

Update, The p0453 code has re-appeared twice. I really don't understand what the code means is wrong and how to remedy the situation. Im not sure if it helps or not but the code appears right at startup.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance,
Chris

A P0453 code may be caused by one or more of the following:
Open on FTP sensor signal wire
Short to voltage on FTP sensor signal wire
Bad FTP sensor
Abnormally high pressure in fuel tank due to blockage in EVAP purge hoses or overfilled tank
Loose/damaged FTP sensor connector
Loss of ground to the sensor
i also found this, i would bring the number to your dealer and see what the fix consists of.

I had the RX in at the dealership. They ran a few tests in which the voltage to ECM was 5 volts which ruled out the ECM. the only problem is I had a full tank of gas so the sensor was not checked, perhaps in a week or so and I'll provide another update

Update
Hello,
Its been awhile since I provided an update. It took a while to get the RX back to the dealership as being without a car for a few days was difficult. I was pleasantly surprised when I received a call from the dealership. As they were dismantling the skid plates in preparation to remove the gas tank to look and test the sensor they discovered they the wiring harness for the sensor was unplugged. They plugged the harness back in as so far so good. But I am curious how would this come unplugged in the first place.
Any ideas would be great as I would prefer this not to happen again.
