Ok ok...I know that general consensus that pinstripes, along with gold badging, is outdated and doesn't have any place on 2nd and 3rd generation RX's. But I my mom gave me her black onyx RX330 that she'd already badged in gold (which I personally love). I decided to have gold metallic pinstripes added to further set my vehicle apart, add some extra flair, and also because I just love black and gold together.

It was really hard to get a shot that showed the whole side of the car and still be close enough to really see the stripes. These are simple 4/16th pinstripes, and the color isn't flat, its almost like a gold chrome, with a shine and reflection to it.

























I also added gold valve stem caps from Lexus Sewell to compliment the badging on the wheel caps.

Not a huge fan of the wheel accents, but I dig the stripe! I hope it doesn't fade for a nice, long time.

I hope not, too. I asked about the quality and was told they should last for a very long time (they're not normal stripes...it's almost like they're metal...) but regardless, I kept the roll, so if these start to go bad after a few years, I've got the materials to have it redone.

My car has had the gray ones since 2005. To my knowledge this has always been a dealer option. Mine has the little Lexus 'circle L' on the fender,do they still have that?

I'm sure it varies by dealer. But I don't think many dealers pinstripe the RX, and I think it was even more rare with the 2nd generations. Besides mine, of all the 2nd gen Rx's on the road, I have only ever seen 1 with pinstripes on it.

When I decided to have mine done, the dealer here gave me the contact info for the company they bring in to do the stripes. I would have loved to have had the little logos, but I didn't even ask as I'm sure they wouldn't be available on the color I picked.
