Garage door didn't open all the way so when i drove into garage i cracked the base of the antenna that sits on the right side of the roof[for some reason it was in the up position].....not sure if this damage will affect radio reception....long screw- in part of antenna is okay but the base and ball socket are cracked....new antenna device $550+[parts and labor] quoted from dealer....so far reception seems okay[damage happened yesterday].....wondering if reception will get worse and eventually die...any suggestions would be appreciated....thanks.

$273 for the new antenna and install it yourself. It is just held on with one nut between the roof and the headliner. Should be really easy for a do-it-yourselfer.

Thanks Jakenbake...the dealer said it would take a total of 2 hours labor@$140/hr.

You might consider a fin replacement, runs about 100 plus paint. If the antenna wire with the eyelet is accessible it can be attached to the fin. I've had mine for a couple of years with no difficulties. Click th fin link in my sig for more information.
