dipstick reading ??
#16
Having less oil than optimal level can cause the engine to operate at hotter than necessary temps and also causes the oil to breakdown quicker.
so really-I don’t view this issue as frivolous. It IS a well-made car, but this dip stick oil reading issue seems avoidable and is annoying.

Hi gang, 2009 rx350 owner here. I agree, probably the worst car for reading oil level. K find the only real way to see oil level well, is when car has been sitting overnight. You have to pull dipstick out slowly to get an accurate reading.
this being said, i am super-happy that there is actually a dipstick, as well as a tranny fluid dipstick/fill hole. Alot of new cars don't have these anymore.

This is what I do in order to read the oil level:
1. take the oil dipstick out
2. clean the oil dipstick but DO NOT put it back to the tube yet
3. wait for at least 5 minutes, this is to let the remaining oil in the tube drain down to the oil pan
4. now insert you clean oil dipstick, then pull it and read.
