Default Helpful tips regarding valve cover gaskets

Hello, I am about to change the valve cover gaskets on an 04 rx330. I understand I will need to remove the upper intake manifold for the rear. Does the lower also need to be removed? I will also be changing out the throttle body gaskets, intake manifold gaskets, and pcv. Thank you for your help

The lower manifold does not need to come off.

Some "gear wrenches" with flexible heads or stubbies are needed to remove the bolts at the back of the upper intake manifold. If I recall correctly you need a 12mm and 14mm.

Reinstalling the rear valve cover is a PITA. There is a large cable bundle over the valve cover that creates a tight fit. I had a helper pull up on the cable and used some RTV to hold the gasket on the cover as I was reinstalling.

If you are getting near spark plug replacement mileage, I would do them while you are there.
