Last Sunday I replaced the engine's air filter, it was pretty bad. I replaced it with a non Toyota brand type of filter, picked it up at Walmart.
For the last couple of days I have been getting an air filter service message at start up, see below. This is coincidental, that after replacing the air filter I am getting the service message. is there a reset that I have to do? does it matter that I am not using a Toyota air filter ?
Well that sucks. The dealership loaded their info into the navigation and bugs you about maintenance. The dealership I bought my car from did the same thing to me. Must be a California thing. Simply touch the "Do Not Display This Message Again" and it will go away. I also told the service advisor if they ever did that again, I would take my business elsewhere.
