Electric problem following botched radar wire tap
I "tried" to connect my detector to the rear view mirror, apparently somewhere I failed. Now my car won't get out of park. The following systems are not working: Heated seats, rearview mirror, windows, power rear hatch and moonroof. Now when I start the car the following lights are on: atf off (blinking), tire pressure (blinking), Brake, ABS.
I went through every fuse I could, pulled each one out, including the larger ones and could not find on break? Any ideas?

You really should have got some more info about what youre doing before you went messing with it because it could have been worse than just a fuse you blew. First of all you need to figure out how much amps the detector pulls to see if u can add it to the rear view mirror circuit , may be its pulling to much amperage or may be u just connected it wrong and thts why it blew the fuse. You will need a digital multimeter to check for the correct wire that has power. Connect the black lead to a ground on the car and turn on the car and touch each wire on the back of mirror harness with the red meter lead and look for 12volts. Then turn off the car and see if the 12volts drops off then thats the wire u can use to power the radar dectector. Now to find the ground wire after you have located the positive 12v wire . keep the red lead of the meter on this wire and touch each wire next to it with the black lead of the meter until u see 12v on the meter again then thats the ground wire on the harness. Oh and bye the way the amperage of the fuse on the radar detector must be less than the fuse for the mirror or u cant use that circuit to power it as it may blow.

I looked around up there for about an hour for switched power and was not able to find it. I ended up running wires from the back if cigarette lighter port up to the visor which only took 15 minutes. The weather strip just pulls off from the edge of the door and the wire can be tucked in.

Using my voltmeter I was able to figure that Number 1 is power( that does turn on and off with the ignition), but I'm not sure how to find where the ground wire. I looked at some posts about finding 0 ohms on the ground wire. I'm getting 6mOhms on 2, 3mOhms on 4 and 7mohms on 5.

yeah, i didn't have a volt meter so i didn't go through with this. I have a 2004 rx300 (read 330 for non asia), and was afraid something similar would happen.
once you do figure out the two wires, would be great to know; i'm looking to connect my r65i
