where best place to start looking for what's causing p0442 code on my 2005 rx330? and its not the gas cap... also have a "c" code identified for the VSC light, states that its wheel speed sensor. evidently wrote the wrong code down, i had it listed as a c1290 but in looking them up i couldn't find that one. Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I have similar issues with my lexus rx330. The check engine light keeps blinking, the car shakes even when stationary with the engine on especially in traffic, and the car does not ride smoothly on the high way.
I took it to a mechanic workshop/servicing centre where it was suggested that it's engine spark plugs problem which I let them change all six. The air filter and adjacent parts were cleaned including the air flow meter. However, prior to the development of this "flashing check engine light" they have changed the passenger front shock absorberror, both shaft tubing protector, and the two steering locks (the thyroid, the previous day. The problem continues.
Today, I had the car scanned and got these codes:
C1223 (malfunctioning ABS)
C1246 (malfunctioning master cylinder pressure sensor)
P0304 (s1 and s2)
Please I need help for the interpretation of these results/code and how I will sort out these problems.
Thank you all in advance.

The misfire code P0304 should be easy to diagnose. Since the plugs didn't fix it, it's likely the coil pack for that cylinder. Cylinder 4 is at the front of the car so I believe they can swap the coil pack with another and see if the code follows the coil pack.

I've been getting the P0442 Small Evap Leak code now for some time. I would reset the code and wouldn't see if for about a month but now I see it each week after each tank of gas. I have a 04 RX330 AWD with 200K miles. I bought a new gas cap but that didn't fix my problem. I asked my independent mechanic and he says he has a smoke machine that he can hook up to the emission vacuum lines to find the leak. The procedure looks like this:
If the problem is with the charcoal canister, there is a vacuum valve switch which contains a solenoid. This part goes bad and leaks over time. The only place I could find this part is on Partsgeek.com for $55 Toyota Part #90080-91224. It's the same part on the Toyota Highlander, Siena, Camry. and Tundra of similar model years. If you can't get this part, then your stuck buying the entire charcoal canister which retails $550 or $400 online Toyota part # 77740-4810 at toyotapartsestore.com. You can see the procedure on this video:
But before I went down the smoke machine path, I popped open the hood and removed the engine cover and see the condition of the hoses. And sure enough, my emission leak was caused be a cracked vacuum line hose. I called the Piercy Toyota dealership here in CA and was quoted $57.71 for hose. Part # 23820202010. Online I found it for $30 + 12.95 shipping. I couldn't wait for the shipping so I took the hose off and went down to OReillys to match the hose (Gates Hose Part # 27044 @ .69/foot). In the end, this set me back 75 cents and the cost of the gas cap.
Now I wonder how many of my other hoses will soon fail![Sad](https://www.clublexus.com/forums/images/smilies/sad.gif)
Below is the video where I discovered the hose and some of my pictures to go with it.

How do I reset the codes? I don't have a scanner. Can this be done by unplugging the battery?
I have the p0442 code and the c1223 c1224. Saying that the c codes is a result of having the car jumped is a possibility as I had it jumped couple of months ago.

No, I don't think unplugging the battery is the way to go. You need an OBD scanning device that lets you read and clear the codes. The Carista device and app are good ones.
