Unhappy a minor defect on my rx330

well about a week and a half ago i purchased my rx330 black with premiuim / navy package. one awesome car but in a couple of days later it rained. then i noticed my left front head light and my back left tail light started to build fog inside the lights. so im bringing it back to the dealer to get it checked out. but just letting you new rx330 owners to take a look for any defects.

This is a known defect in many vehicles, but it also happens in the RX300. Sorry to see it was not corrected in the RX330.

It's dissapointing to hear that, after so many issues with previous Lexus models, the lenses will still fog up. This problem isn't isolated to Lexus either. I have noticed headlights with condensation in many other new vehicles.

does this (or could this) have something to do with weather conditions and/or temperatures? or whether or not you park inside or out?

i've had mine for about 3 weeks and yesterday we had very heavy rain (about 2 inches). i looked at the headlights and taillights and haven't seen any fogging or condensation.

i've also had two GS's in the last 5 years and just traded in an RX300, and never noticed anything like that .

i've heard of that happening before to others, but i'm curious whether i've been spared due to parking indoors or by living in California . . . i want to make sure it gets looked at also if it is, in fact, a defect.

thanks in advance for any info . . .

The headlamp condensation problem is well documented in the GS 300/400/430 forum. Many owners, on more than one occasion, have had their headlamps replaced by Lexus d/t this problem. I hope this won't be a big problem for the new RX.

I too have that condensation/fog problem on my prem w/ nav. After waiting a month for my RX330, it's disappointing to encounter this minor defect....both of my headlights (the blinkers area) fog after a carwash or rain. I'm going to bring that up on my 1,000mi check. Is this a known issue on RXs? I don't have problem with my ES. Anyone else having the same problem? Thanks.

I think it can be a regional weather thing, but I doubt it. I have a few friends with GS400 that have had the condensation in the headlights. I was affraid my RX 330 would do the same, but so far I have no condensation even though I drive in the rain and left the car out in the rain a few times. It appears that it is a hit and miss thing no matter what type of weather the car is in.

Smile update

I finally made a call to the dealer about this condensation problem....what the heck....couldn't stand waiting for another 700miles until I bring it back to them. ...Awesome service....the service rep. ordered two new ones so both headlights are going to get replaced. Now I gotta check for the rears...forgot all about that....thanks, StyleZ.
