Talking Does anyone know if you can replace 04-06 cd player with 07-09?

I have 2006 RX400h with ML NAV.

A CD is jammed/Error-3.. would like to upgrade to MP3 unit of the later models.

Is this a straight plug and play?

Thanks.

You can't. The harnesses are different and won't be able to be plugged in.

Several people have done it but I think because you have ML. you are limited somewhat. Can you manually take it apart and remove the CD? Then get a bluetooth aux in adapter which will cost less and do more than a ebay 2007+ unit.

Good evening.

No unfortunately you can not or you need somebody who can put different wire in. The harmless is different. Not impossible but not easy, you have to have skills ). you can actually buy a set on eBay its called Multi audio what ever and have touch screen and with a sim card you can able to use anything like Tesla... even you can plug in to your OBD plug and see all your data what you want... good luck

it's easy to re-wire and i imagine there can't be much diff between the two models.

i've rewired my TL headunits back in the day between older models with newer features.

It's a tiny bit tedious depending how many wires you have to test out. but its a very simple procedure.

BUT...if goin through all that trouble and money...why not just upgrade to a 7 inch double din or so? You can even use a 7 inch tablet and mini amp
