Your Dashboard Replacement Experience.
Just got back from my Dash Replacement.
Was able to get a 2015 ES Loaner
It took all day as stated prior to dropping it off.
The dashboard is of a different material as the door panel and not as glossy. Not a big deal as I was happy there were no cracks.
When I received the vehicle back I noticed multiple scratches on the top of the steering column plastic. It is quite upsetting as I take very well care of my car. And the installer could have been more gentle when removing the trim pieces.
The plastic pieces (air vents, radio console) were not pushed all the way flush with the dash. Not a big deal, I just had to push them in with minimum effort. But I would think someone would have just double check that they were flush.
The ac controls and radio has a small piece of felt that should have been tucked in and that was hangning out.
Small sponge pieces from the ac vents were visible on the seats. They could have did a quick vacuum.
The dash itself was dusty. I was not expecting them to wipe it with any type of UV coating but a damp rag would have been sufficient. Any suggestions on what we should protect it with now?
Planning on placing my dash mat back on in the mean time.

I can't stand the attitude of my dealer but I did get a free dashboard. I didn't get a loaner but a rental, and it took longer than they said. There were pieces of insulation (I guess) sticking out when I got it back.

I called my dealer to check on how the list is going. They told me they have not received a new dash in months. I asked about the warranty expiring and he says that Lexus probably will extend it.

Taking mine in for evaluation. I took care of the dash with AS303, but it succumb to the defect eventually when it had to stay outside the garage. I need a 4 car garage!!
