Dealer Didn't Like My Response

NickV you only have 16,600 miles on your 2000 RX300?
My wife's 1999 RX300 is at 115,000 miles! She drives a lot though, we change her RX's oil every 2 months and it is usually has around 6,000 miles since the last oil change...equals 36,000 miles a year.
We also only put Premium gas in both our cars, and at $2.00 + a gallon here in California (S.F. Bay Area) our monthly gas bill is quite high.

The 1999 Lexus RX 300 owner's manual states:
"Select Octane Rating 87 or higher. For improved vehicle performance, the use of premium unleaded gasoline with an Octane Rating of 91 or higher is recommended."
I have never read my 1996 ES300 owner's manual, so I can't quote it.
For my own peace of mind I'll pay the extra $75 -$100 a year for Premium gas. Besides I can tell a difference between the two (Regular and Premium), the Middle Grade is for people who can't make up their minds.
I've owned many, many cars, I've owned five (5) Toyota trucks alone! I've owned Toyota's that were older than me. I've personally installed a Buick 3.8L 231 V6 in one of my Toyota 4x4 trucks with a 350 Chevy Automatic transmission...I got 7 miles per gallon in that vehicle...I also had 36" Super Swapper tires which might of had something to do with it. Yes, I put Premium in that too! That was a dumb engine swap, had better reliability with my 20R 4 cyclinder.
Hell, I put Premium gas in my lawn mower!
Sorry, I got a little off track there. I'm just saying, I like Premium, maybe spending extra on gas makes me feel better.
Thanks for the tip though,

car wash
My dealer (Serramonte Lexus) has washed my car each of the 3x I've taken it in for a service job.
Any Serramonte Lexus folks here know if I can bring my car there just for a wash as well? It would save me a ton of time. Thanks.

I'm surprised more dealers aren't on here. I asked my dealer if they have even heard of ClubLexus and they looked at me with a blank stare. Like "Huh, Internet, what's that?"
They also seemed confused when I rolled up in my ES with IS rims. Like "You can do that?"

There are other dealerships on here, just not officically, but there are a lot of people that work at a dealership. They just don't identify themselves as to who they are. And I didn't like the wheels on the my ES300 either, so I put some LS430 lookalike chromes on. But I bet those IS wheels look sharp. I had them on my '99 RX300 and I really used to like them.

Badams; Yes, I Did have 16,600 miles on my 2000 RX300 when I bought it on 22 June 03--guess I have had it longer than two weeks. But it just seems like a day or two... I now have about 17,400 miles on it, so I am catching up. I doubt that I will ever catch up with you badams.
I have put regular in mine...so far. I will try a tank of premium sometime soon, just to see what happens. In Sandy Eggo, regular is going for $1.67 now adays; premium--I don't know. Well, I do buy premium for my Harley, but I don't look at the price--55 miles per gallon.
As for Longo Lexus----Hey! Give me a reason to drive up there! I saw a notice in the Club Lexus forum re maintenance and cleaning about a special that Westminster Lexus is having, though you have to have a coupon from a paper, I think. The special was $129 for a total inside and outside detail, including claybar and leather cleaning and conditioning. Sounded good, but I don't have a coupon.
I am getting a little worried though; my wife has decided that she really, really likes my RX300. I have been telling her about the IS300. She likes little cars.
