RX330 interior paint? Hand sanitizer eats console paint off!
I got a nice surprise last week when little round "dots" of paint started disappearing from my center console doors on my 2005 RX330. After a few days of "how the heck?" I took the kids to church and as we left, we passed around the hand sanitizer, which the kids happened to drip (again) on the doors. Surprise! Hand sanitizer eats the paint off the doors! Another dot appeared.
Now i'm stuck with a black and tan door that used to be all tan. Any idea what kind of paint I can use on this to fix it?

I feel your pain. Try to find a metallic touch up closest to your paint.
I used to paint parts for the interior. All high “touch parts,” mainly on the radio bezel-AC and the whole stack are painted with wear resistant paint, mainly versus the suntan lotion (which eats the old style paint).
The area of the door is probably considered a low touch area and as a result, just my assumption, they used a formula for “low touch.” It is all about the costs.
