Question Enabling option on the RX330!!!!

This might be a weird question, but it would not far fetch to think so...
I just got my RX330 black exterior with black interior, with the sport package.
What I would like to do, is to add the automatic tail gate opening systems to my RX, I have remove both blanks buttons where the power for the release is, and all the wiring is there and have power to them.
Can I add the automatic tail gate opening on my RX330?
It's seem that I would need 3 switches and the automatic piston!

Any comments or help will be greatly appreciated!

The only package that doesn't include the power rear gate is the Premium Package. In some areas (Mid-Atlantic/Delaware), it's not even available with just the Premium Package, based on the web site. Don't know about ordering from the dealer.

No, power rear door is NOT standard. And I don't understand the original post.

I haven't looked under the button blanks but I'd be interested in the possibility of retro-fitting the power tailgate to my RX330. I find that the unpowered tailgate to be too hard to close if you're carrying a heavy object in one hand and don't want to set the object down (e.g. the road is wet or dirty). This is one of the few annoyances I have with my RX.

If anyone has tried this or has looked into such a retrofit, I'd be very interested in what you have found out.

I just want to add the power rear door to my RX, and it seem that all the wirring is already there, looks like all that I have to do is to find the three switches involved and the power something that actually opens the doors.

I don't believe it is as easy as adding the switch. I can't be sure because mine has the power hatch, but I don't think the non power hatch has the linear actuator included that you would need to open and close the hatch.

Just wondering, on the non powered hatch, do you have to close the hatch all the way or just get it to the bottom? On the power hatch you just need to close it to the bottom and the motorized latch sucks it in the rest of the way.

I have the performance package too but I don't have the power rear door. I really wanted it but I wasn't able to order it with it for some weird reason. No you have to close it all the way without the power rear door. I would also like to add the power rear door if it's possible, but I highly doubt it since the dealers won't be able to do it.

No assistance from the latch, have to slam it down (gently of course)

Default Enabling tailgate option on the RX330

time4lexus, I know what you mean, because I too am confused with all the posts here?

So here's my question.

I have a RX300 and would like install ~the~ remote power rear door open/close, does anyone know if the 300 can have this installed??

Can the 'electronic' parts from the 300 be installed or retorfitted to the 300??

Thanks.
