I wonder how hard it would be to add a center speaker to the standard system. I would assume there is a place for it if the ML system has it?

Re: changing stereo, yes, as CMSTAHL said, the current stereo is nicely integrated into the dash. Also, if you swap out the stereo, the steering wheel controls will likely no longer work.

Some here posted a picture of a different Lexus front bezel that matches the dash but allows a "standard" after-market stereo to be fitted.

A possibly better thing to do would be to wait until they upgrade the OEM stereo next year or the year after and retrofit that unit (by which time, I really hope they have MP3... --or perhaps DVD/DTS surround!(?)

I hadn't thought about the option mentioned by Lexterious concerning possible future improvements to the standard audio by Lexus....interesting possibility.

We also know a guy who does stereo installs professionally, and plan to speak with him sometime in the near future as to options that might exist with regards to aftermarket components (better speakers, amplifier, etc.). I don't know enough about it to know what those possibilities might be, but if I do anything with it, will post here about what was done and how it sounds.

Does anyone know the sizes and location of the standard audio in the RX330? Any subwoofers or any sort.

Planning to go on a test drive soon. Can't wait.
