Default Driveshaft removal refit

Hi,

Has anyone removed a driveshaft and refitted? I have a RX400h and I have replaced the lower right control arm, but on reassembly I cannot get the new ball joint into the hub, there is a 1" gap and I cannot get any closer. So I'm thinking it looks like I might have pulled the driveshaft out from near the gearbox when I raised the engine and was swinging things out of the way for access, but I cannot get the driveshaft back in. Just wondering is there any special technique and or clips/screws I might needs to adjust??

Normally a driveshaft just pushes back into place and is held there by the rest of the suspension..

best regards Jason.

Quick update on this, the driveshaft has 3 bearings that fit into a cup that fits into the gearbox. Each bearing is moveable on a small shaft and the area it fits into in the cup is tapered - so the bearing has to be in the outer part of its small shaft. I took the CV boot off and could see 1 bearing was falling to its centre position thus not allowing fitment back into the cup. moving it out slightly and it fitted in cleanly - of course I needed a new cv boot.

I have 2 pics, will post up tomorrow.
