Default Returning to forum after 13 yrs.. Looking at an '09 RX350.. paging RX experts

Hello all,

Long time member but have been away for 13 yrs.

Looking at a 2009 RX350 for my wife and founding locally. Car is 1 owner, has 105K miles, has spent 100% of its life in Fairfax VA. Has impeccable service records from 0-105K miles..

I took some pics under the car and found some areas of concern.

Can those who live in North east chime in and confirm if this is normal or if I should RUN

Thank you

Thats nothing, youre completely fine. If it really bothers you, spray it with fluid film or paint it to prevent it from getting any worse.

I've seen much worse. Usually the farther north you go the worse it will be. If the RX is a at a good price don't let that scare you.
Yes you can spend a little time under there and kill that rust with any of many products made for that. Re-visit it a year or so later and get what you missed.
You must be vigilant when dealing with rust. Rust never sleeps! If that scares you, wait for a nice southern car to come along.

Looks like my RX's underside and I'm in the rust belt. I am not worried and I have seen worse still chug along on the highway near me.

No big deal, rust never sleeps, once you purchased the vehicle head to Krown for a rust proofing application.
My 05 RX330 looks a little bit better for the undercarriage since it lived in California & Texas before landing here in the Great White North.
I rust proofed the RX about a month ago, cost was $119.00 with a discount coupon. The Krown outlet I went to the owner actually does the application.
He mentioned that the RX was rust proofed previously but not thoroughly done. Once he was done the difference was noticeable especially in the engine
compartment..
