Mine worked first try, just put it in the drive and turned on the car, changed the area and we were up and running. Maybe your seller didn't create the disc properly or it's damaged. I got mine from this seller...

I wonder if the Gen5 maps still works on Gen4 machines like they used to.
I used to run Gen5 14.1 on my Gen4 machine, no issues.

Gen5's final version is 2016, where Gen4 is 2015....

the gps disk goes in ther rear cargo area. To the right of the jack there is a 6x2 inch plastic cover. Remove the cover. Turn the car on. Push the black switch on the DVD behind the cover. It's top left facing the DVD. When you slide the switch left. It will eject the old disk. Push the new one in like it's a regular DVD player. Slide the switch back. The nav should start to install automatically. DO NOT TURN THE CAR OFF TILL ITS FINISHED. Hope this helps.

^^ Exactly.

I was just gonna say ~ the poster didn't specify what CD player wouldn't accept the disc.

Question 2016.1/U41 Single disk for nationwide? Or East & West regional disks?

Most of the eBay listings for 2016.1/U41 offer disks marked "East" or "West" although a few listings show disks labeled without either regional split. Is there a disk version combining both East and West? FYI my RX 350 is a 2008, so I'd be shopping for a Gen 5, per earlier helpful post:

2016.1/U41 may be the last available for the gen 5 and was released the fall of 2016.
2017.1/U99 just came out for gen 6 in the fall of 2017 but not anything older.

Not sure why anyone would buy Nav discs when they can use Waze app or even google maps
