I tell everyone that rides in my car they say nice interior I say yes it is and then they look around a bit more and say what's this.I tell them the story they say that's crazy.

Hey Guys, Its not just the dash. My door panels are are also melting. I can literally scoop rubber on the dash and door panels with my finger. Do you think they will issue another enhanced warranty campaign?

Sorry the replacement campaign for the Dash and Door panels have ended. I got my Dashboard done. Now my Door panels are headed that way too so am trying to prolong the melting (not leaving the car under the sun helps).

Somebody's picked up on a good idea. Will be good if we can review testimonies on it. A ray of hope with the people who got stuck with the dashboard issue.

I found a replacement dashboard from a 2010 is250c which should fit my 2006 IS350 for $100. I have to install it myself. I could not find the door panels. I called a local full service junk yard and they said it will cost 250 for the dashboard and 75 per door panel. I will wait to see if i can find a car in the cheaper junk yard to buy the door panels. If i dont have any luck finding them in the cheaper place, I will buy the driver door panel and install it from the 75 dollar per panel place.

I am planning on doing a DIY on the dashboard this weekend. I will update you guys on how it goes. Hopefully get some before and after pictures.

Go to google maps and search for "Junk Yards" and call each place and ask them. Some of them you have to go and disassemble the part yourself (Self service) and others will do it for you (Full Service).

I think this is a good option for our owners! Lexus should say something about this issue. All the 2004 - 2006 RX330, 2007 - 2009 RX350 have such problems, how can the Lexus end their warranty enhancement at 2017? Does that mean the 2007 owners can be protected by 12 years while for the 2009 owners just for 8 years!! It is obviously a kind of discrimination!
Also, I found for other models, GX, ES, some owners report that the door panels start to melt as well. I believe all of those are due to the quality issue! and the Lexus have to say something and take action for that.

I just had a chat with a rep today about replacing my badly cracked dash (2009 RX350) only got be told that my window for repair expired 8 months ago. Like most of you here, I never received a letter about the issue nor a follow up letter about the parts being available. I mentioned that I had never received a recall or warranty notice, even the one about my headlights. I have only found info after doing research on my own after noticing problems. Not happy.

Sorry you missed the campaign dates for the dashboard replacements.

Perhaps if you found ClubLexus earlier, you could have been informed of the timing.

It's a joke and all my old cars dont have cracked dashes dont try and be a superior car builder and not delivering something that is clearly not.If so take care of it .People can say what they want but lexus should have taken care of it and should. E no time limit these cars where designed to be on the road a long time .We just bought a new lexus as well it wont stop me from buying one but still makes me mad when I drive to work.

Default 2004 rx330





My vehicle is almost 16 years old and has been excellent. My dash just started cracking in the last year, has severely progressed in the last two months. I’m mainly concerned about the cracking around the airbag area. Should there be an accident and the airbag were to deploy, the fragments of the cracked dash will be like shrapnel and could seriously injure anyone in the vehicle. Of course, Lexus won’t help out, so I’m looking at getting a cover from Coverlay Manufacturing, Inc. They get an A+ with the BBB. I saw this recommended in a previous post on here. So, has anyone purchased one from them? I like it because it’s not that carpet stuff that I’m finding when I’m searching online. I am going to take it to a dealership and have it checked out for the safety issue before I make a final decision. I’m most definitely am not going to get rid of this vehicle! It just got a facelift about a year ago and looks great, runs great and hasn’t given me any problems. This issue is new.
