Hello ... I have a 2004 RX 330 and I need a new radiator ... I see a few in amazon ... is anyone familiar with the Cooling Direct brand? It is about $60 cheaper than the Denso radiator. Or, if someone wishes to recommend brand, that would be appreciated also ... I will be doing the installation myself ... also replacing the hoses while there and seriously considering the thermostat ... any info would be greatly appreciated ... Thanks, Steven ...
I changed the radiator on our 05 RX a few years back. Bought the radiator from the dealer because of concern about getting the right one based on Japan vs Canada assembly of the car. Not sure if your 04 might have the same concern.
Aftermarket radiators (or aftermarket parts in general) are always a gamble.
While most of the time you can "make them work" you may run into minor issues like the radiator cap not fitting "just right" or a hose being more difficult to get back on for example. Buying OEM is pricey but I've found these type of issues to be non existent when installing/reinstalling OEM parts.
I have a Canadian built 2004 rx330 with factory towing that needs a radiator. My new Denso radiator is 7/8 +/- thick and all aluminum, and per Denso spec is for Japan built RX330s with towing. It looks like they are identical radiators except for all aluminum.
The Denso radiator, which is for Japan built RX330 per Denso specs, was a perfect fit on my Canadian 2004 RX330. I think the only concern is towing vs non-towing with the Denso radiator. I'm not sure if this applies to different year vehicles.

That all aluminum body is probably much more reliable than the OEM radiator which utilizes plastic fittings that'll deteriorate.
I have an 07 RX350 and just replaced the plastic filler neck on my radiator because one of the hose fittings deteriorated and broke off while driving. Had to dremel it for awhile to avoid hitting the inner plastic fitting that it fits over. Some recommended getting a new radiator but a new filler neck was only $14 off Amazon. I'll probably go with the Denso radiator if this radiator develops more issues down the road.
