Default Rx 350 start without keyfob

I lost one of my keyfob.
I went to Lexus and they removed the lost one from the car memory.
They also told me that whoever has the lost keyfob, can open the car using the metal key inside of it.
I do not have anything in the car , so i do not care.
My biggest worry is, if somebody get in the car and start it - like in the old fashion way, without having the proper keyfob. Just touching some wires.
My car is RX350 and i bought it on march 2009
Thank you

The person in possession of the key would have to know your car well in order to start it. Its not as simple as hotwiring a 30 year old car.

Re-keying the car is a way to remedy this issue which in my opinion is not worth it.

If you want some peace of mind an alternative could be to buy a club that goes under the pedal like this one here.

No, unless they have a valid transponder code which the lost key was removed from the immobilizer. I both programmed new keys and installed a remote start on my RX330 myself and got to play with how the immobilizer system works.

Thank you Lexuswiz.
Who ever found the key is not a professional thief so i assume he does not have the tools and time to do it.
One Lexus shop suggest me to buy a new key-fob which come with a new metal key for door, a set of looks for door and glove compartment, and then , they will reprogram what i have to the new transmiter.
This is the cheapest solution.
Until then, i can sleep based on your answers.

If you have nothing to lose in your car, not worth it to re-key the entire car I'd say that's still in the $800-1200 range with parts. Odds of who finds the lost key knowing exactly which Lexus to go to is very very slim, and there's still a chance it may turn up (as I've seen a few over the years) and then you can reprogram it.

Thank you , but i have to do it.
The key was last on a ultrasound lab.
It is easy to look at the patients address and find the car location.
What is good now, is the fact, that when you drive by and press lock or unlock, the car will not respond, making them to believe that it not the car they are looking for.
But my question is very simple.
1.Assume they open the driver side door.
2.Get in the car.
3.Open the hood.
CAN THE ENGINE BE STARTED ? Yes or No ?
Thank you.

Assuming they are not a professional, no.
