Best Brakes and Rotors for RX350
Hey y'all!
I just wanted to share my $.02 on the Brakes and Rotors I got for my RX350 and ask you to share yours (If you have some that you were really impressed by...or not).
So, long story short our RX350 was constantly ending up with warped rotors. We live on a hill, use the freeway quite a bit and its hot year round.
Not sure which one of these was the culprit but combine these factors with the weight of the RX and different driving/braking habits and we were running though brake pads and rotors quite a bit. (In one instance the driver side outer brake pad cracked )
With that said, on the last brake change I decided to switch it up and took a chance on some drilled / slotted rotors from amazon.
The set comes in pairs (front) and (rears) and included pads and hardware. They're made by "Power Stop" and Each set was roughly $160. (Not bad for a set with pads and free shipping to Hawaii ~ Amazon prime FTW)
They installed as you would expect and unfortunately (like a few others I read about) I bent the rear drum brake hardware pins removing the rear rotors so I had to get a new hardware kit for the rear... whoops ~ lol
Anyways, back on topic, its been about a year now and I gotta say that I'm still pleased with the brakes. They still have quite a bit of pad left and the stop still feels good.
(Not to mention they enhance the look of the car ~ in my opinion)
Driver Rear Rotor
So for less than $350 plus 2 hours on a Saturday (+ a trip to pick up a new hardware kit) I'd say its not a bad deal and a decent set to pick up.
Do any of you have any recommendations for brakes / rotors?

Looks great!
How about initial bite? I even use semi metallic pads with Brembo rotor still get no initial bite, but OK for normal brake with deeper brake pedal, Akebono ceramic pad seems lost too much stopping power but leaves you a clean rim, semi metallic pads got too much dust!
So maybe next time I will try this kits with solid rotor as a bit worry about slot rotor may eat pads too quick.

Not a big fan of ceramic pads in general (I prefer semi metallic) but this set has held up fairly well.
Yes, I agree, the slotted rotors do eat the pads quicker so it is something to be aware of.

Just got these for the front. Have Brembo blanks with centric pads on the back. Was just going to get powerstop as thats what I have on my GS, but for the price I was willing to try it out

Oh yeah, one more thing I forgot to mention: The previous set of rotors I bought (before the Power Stop ones) turned a rust color after a few months.
The Power Stop ones still look good. (No rust coloration at all)

I have not installed these on my RX yet, when the snow here clears I will.
I have installed their brake kits on a civic and 3 accords, everything was great, and have passed the two year mark on all.

I just installed a new set of daily driver Powerstop brakes and rotors on the front of my 04 RX330. I bought as a kit and they came with the hardware. First time I have ever bought Powerstop and am very happy so far. I just installed them last week. They kit was Powerstop KOE196.

Just installed there “prime choice” rotors and pads on the front of our 2008 awd RX. So far, happy with them. Stop better, but attribute that to the fact that the pins were lit sliding freely moreso that the change in rotors. For the price though, very happy. Came painted black so no rust concerns which was nice not having to paint them myself.

I assume that most of you bought these brake kits from AutoZone. How much did it cost to have a shop install them?
Any issues with turning them? I read that the drilled and slotted rotors aren't suitable for turning compared to the OE rotors.
