Rear Seat Removal - Help
I've read several of the prior posts about removal of the back seat and they refer to removal of the rear bolts as if they are very accessible. I have a 2007 and access to the bolts is not obvious! I have looked at the rear seat several times and I have yet to figure out how to gain access to the rear bolts. I assume I am missing something very basic. I can barely see the bolts from the front of the seats. How are the seats removed. Do I need to pull up the carpet?
Any help is appreciated.

Maybe covered by plastic, as in the procedure below found on this forum?
9) On the base of the back seats (towards the front of the car) are 4 bolts. Loosen and remove those. You will need to remove the plastic clips first.
10) Move the back seats forward, by using the adjustment lever.
11) Get into the boot of your car and if you want remove the cargo cover to make life easier.
12) Remove the bolts that sit at the back of the seats (need a slightly longer ratchet to reach it). Loosen and unbolt.
13) Once all bolts are removed, fold the split-fold seats until they catch (i.e. use the level on the corners of the back of the rear seats to fold the seat). This compacts the seat so you can remove it.
14) Obviously this will be 2 pieces, the 40 split of the seat and the 60 split.
15) Pull these out of the car carefully (make sure you don't scratch your paint as the rails are sharp!).

This is from the thread that I've read three times. By "boot" I assume you mean rear trunk? I've removed the cargo cover but there is carpeting that covers the backs of the rear seats and trunk that appears to be one piece. Do I need to remove that carpeting? It seems to be glued down and without removing this I see no way of obtaining access to the rear base of the back seats. What am I missing.? Appreciate your patience with the newbie!

Trying to get underneath the seat cushion to clean out the carpet under the rear seat. Everybody makes it sound like removing the rear seat is straight forward but I cannot figure it out.

Far i know you simply yank cushion up. there should be 4 I recall clips holding it in place.
Now. That is why everyone says it's easy job but. I dead lift 360 lb and I had hardest time ever yanking my Camry cushion up. I literally had to take pry bar to the cushion, those clips were holding so well. Once they release first time though, next time it's an easy do job. It might be just easy on yours.

The back seats come out as whole units, not just the seat or the back.
Use the bar under the seat to slide it all the way forward, then lean the seat back forward. The carpeting on the back of the seat will be attached to the floor of the cargo area.
Pull up the carpeted flooring where it overlaps the seat backing. There's a clip holding it down, but gently pull up on it and it comes right out. This will expose where the carpet on the back of the seat is attached by Christmas tree pins.
Pull the Christmas tree pins straight out and fold back the carpet and you'll see a nylon strap attaching the seat to the unibody. On the floor you'll see three bolts holding the seat in place, two toward the center, and one toward the door. Remove these bolts along with the two at the front of the seat and you should be able to (carefully) remove the folded seat from the vehicle.

The pictures made the difference. I was able to get behind the seats and did not have to remove them. It looked like previous owner had dumped a bad of mulch under the back seat. Thanks again!
