Default Headlight problem please help

So my 09 rx350 came with halogens and I bought a set of oem hid xenon projector headlights. After some slightly tricky installation my mechanic got them to work but now the lights shoot upwards and not evenly straight. He said its cause I have the halogen model and as a result no auto leveling. Is there a way to get these to work at all? I paid $640 from an eBay seller who I'm not gonna put on blast yet. But he assured me these would be a simple direct swap before I purchased them. Should I return these back for a refund or is there a way for these to function properly? Cause apparently my Drl's aren't turning on as a result too!

While aftermarket headlights tend to be hit or miss, the things you describe sound more like improper installation to me.
The DRL lights might not be improper installation. The headlight may not have the wire connections for DRL, but I'm not sure if special connections are needed.

See if you can find any reviews for those headlights. That could tell you if the headlights are compatible or not. You could also call the supplier and see if thay have any tips for you.
