Needs too much, daughter needs something newer anyway.
1) Timing belt (part of maintenance)
2) ABS actuator
3) Hole in radiator
4) Tie end rods

Only 88k miles on it too.
I never had these kinda problems with a Lexus or Toyota.

those are cheap repairs at your own mechanic. it is 12 years old, so things deteriorate with time.

Aside from the ABS actuator, which I recall there being a recall for on the 400Hs, everything else is general maintence. After 12 years, I’m surprised that’s all it needs.

There was a recall in 2010 that affected the 2004 to 2006 RX330 and the RX400h. It was for the brake master cylinder.

There was no recall on the ABS actuator.

NHTSA Campaign Number: 10V499000

Manufacturer TOYOTA MOTOR NORTH AMERICA, INC.

Components SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC

Potential Number of Units Affected 728,544

Summary

TOYOTA IS RECALLING CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2005-2006 AVALON, MODEL YEAR 2004-2006 HIGHLANDER, MODEL YEAR 2004-2006 LEXUS RX, AND MODEL YEAR 2006 LEXUS GS AND IS VEHICLES. BRAKE FLUID CONTAINING POLYMERS IS USED THAT ACTS AS LUBRICANTS FOR CERTAIN BRAKE SYSTEM COMPONENTS. IF REPLACEMENT BRAKE FLUID IS USED THAT DOES NOT CONTAIN SUCH POLYMERS, OR THAT CONTAINS ONLY SMALL AMOUNTS, A PART OF THE RUBBER SEAL LOCATED AT THE REAR OF THE BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER MAY BECOME DRY, AND THE SEAL MAY CURL DURING MOVEMENT OF THE PISTON. IF THIS OCCURS, A SMALL AMOUNT OF BRAKE FLUID COULD SLOWLY LEAK FROM THE SEAL INTO THE BRAKE BOOSTER.

That's really not that much $$$...maybe 1200-2000 all in for a luxury SUV with low miles. Timing belt can be done for around $500. Radiator maybe $250? ABS actuator can probably be sourced used for well under new price.

Someone will buy that off you in a heart beat, put the $$$ in, and have another 120k of trouble free miles.

only item that's expensive on that list is ABS actuator.. are you getting all the warning lights? Too bad you didn't get the lights 2 years ago.. would've of been covered by extended warranty.

Timing belt/radiator/tie rod would be $1,200 to $2,000 is normal for car this old...

aftermarket rad, and mood tire rod ends are not too bad. belt can be expensive labor wise. not sure about the actuator. maybe get a used one?

.

Everything with the exception of the ABS actuators are normal maintenance or wear items for a Lexus with nearly 100k miles.

The timing belt in the engine has to be changed every 90-100k miles - you've probably owned Toyotas and Lexus that needed this serviced in the past and didn't even know about it.

The hole in the radiator can happen at any point in time if you hit debris or gravel (I got a dent in my radiator 1 month after getting a new replacement)

Tie rods are also high mileage replacement items. Unless you keep your Lexus garaged and for most of its life and never drive into pothole on the highway, these things will need replaced at some point within 100k miles.

I find it funny how we all were quick to say just put the money in and keep it, when in reality having a car that is 12 years old to most people, is completely foreign
