to fill the ac gas
To do what, I'm sorry? At gas station?
AC comp does not run when:
1. there is no power to it
2. there is not enough pressure in the system, so pressure switch shuts it down
3. When system is overcharged, then pressure switch shuts it down
4. When compressor seized but then belt will be squealing like hell.

You can take it back to the technician who told you that it was OK. AC system deals with pressure exceeding over 225 psi at times and if you don't have a set of manifold gauges then you need to take it to someone who does.
Both low and high pressure sensors can cause the compressor not to function. Also, a bad AC clutch can also cause the compressor not to function.

segzy, it needs to be recharged. Before recharging, it needs to be tested for leaks. This can be done ONLY with vacuum pump and manifold gauge. Do NOT recharge without vacuum test.
