Default Parasitic drain?

is it possible I have a short or parasitic drain somewhere in my electrical system of my 07 rx350? Reason I ask is because last week after not even a year my first replacement battery went bad again after not even a year. Is it possible I got a bad battery or is something happening

have the battery tested first. if bad replace it. I would start here first before checking for parasitic draw. If you have a DVOM, you can check for parasitic draw afterwards.

What brand, model, and CCA is your current battery? I doubt you have a short as fuses will be popping left and right. Drain is possible but rare on these cars unless you have something aftermarket like a remote start, alarm, GPS tracker, etc.

I'd have the battery checked first. Sometimes the battery that you get has been sitting in storage for a number of years before it gets purchase and installed.

Also, depending on how long you left your Lexus parked unattended - more than a few weeks - the alarm system can drain the batteries.

Thanks for the replies. I just got a replacement installed last week. It was a triple a battery off one of their battery replacement vehicles. So yea I bet the previous one probably sat awhile somewhere. But I think next time I need a new battery I’m gonna avoid triple a and take the advice of my sisters husband and go right to autozone and get a duralast battery as those have a 5 year warranty on them and my sisters husband has one in his Jeep and and so far it’s lasted 4 years without having to be replaced. That’s what my dad did also. He was gonna go triple a bit he compared prices and auto zone was cheaper and had a better warranty so he of course went with them.
