power drivers side mirror
For some reason every so often; my drivers side power mirror does not always want to go left and right; or it will move left or right very slowly. What i can i do to try and resolve this myself without having to go to a shop and have them possibly replace the mirror which if memory serves correct would involve unscrewing and taking off the whole drivers side door panel switches etc and all as the mirror is bolted/screwed onto the door from the inside. So where do i go from here. Thanks Matt.
EDIT: its not the mirror motor as it will go up and down easily just sometimes does not want to go left and right.

What I did was pushing on each side of the mirror all the way in gently, sprayed some lubricant I think I used wd40,on the middle at the motor and mechanism,I did that for the other side of the mirror and up and down, after that I kept moving the mirror maually untill it was smooth and easy to move it and it was good to go by the switch it self
use some tissues under the mirror to catch the extra oil

You can pick up and aftermarket replacement for about $100. I got one for my left side for paint flaking bubbling reasons on the black part and am about to put it on. The reviews seem to be OK with aftermarket replacements. The dealer will set you back about $500 just for the parts so thats not worth it IMO.

Also there was a TSIB years ago where Lexus admitted to the problem with the actuator and fixed it for free withing the first 48K of your warranty. My passengers side mirror also moves up and down better than it moves left and right. It even got stuck before but I manually nudged it. There are nylon gears befind the mirror so be careful. The nudge fixed it for me though.
