Replace Frayed Seatbelt
My 2004 RX330 drivers side seatbelt is frayed. the mechanism (i.e. - retraction) works fine. Is there a way to
replace just the fabric part of the belt or do I need to purchase and replace the entire seatbelt assembly?
Thanks.

Seat belts are surprisingly tough. They will hold like 90% of the load even if you puncture holes through it. As long as the edging doesn't get cut it's good. My first job out of college was at a seat belt manufacturer. I doubt there's a lifetime warranty but you can buy replacement webbing. I've seen some on ebay. You will need to find the right width and color. The hard part will be to remove the belt assembly and disassemble it. They you will need to sew the webbing back on.
I think your best bet is to find a factory assembly and just replace it. Get the part number and buy a new assembly.

THanks - will get new assembly
Thanks for the replies to my seatbelt question. I've asked my mechanic to look for a used seatbelt assembly and will replace the whole thing.
