Question RX330 front brake rotor removal

Hi all, there are 2 threaded holes on the rotor to aid in removing it... someone once said use a M8 bolt.

Anybody know the length and is there a width or is M8 a standard width??
Thanks!

It needs to be more than an inch for sure but since it's metric say 50mm. M8 will have the diameter of 8mm.

I don't even bother, if I have the new rotors on hand and ready to install, a metal mallet from the back will free the old rusted-on rotors. Just put one lug nut so the rotor doesn't go flying off the hub and landing on you or your foot.

Haha good advice about the rotor falling off, that sounded like it was from experience!
Thanks

Any length of bolt will work. A quarter inch (6mm) is sufficient because all you need to do is break the rotor free from the wheel hub.

That "removal" hole is joke from Japanese engineers. You have about 1.5 thread in it. Do you really think it will do anything for a rusted on rotor? As I tried, you know.
I don't hammer on rotor braking surface. i found that few hard hits between the studs, on rotor hat, do trick very well. Just needs to be aimed well not to hit studs.

I would agree, but that little hole has saved my butt a few times where I just could not hammer off the rotor or drum because limited room to swing a hammer with any power, or a dust shield being in the way. Generally on other models of cars and even breaking the drum or rotor free was enough to help out.

I wire brush the rust off of the center hub then spray PB Blaster around the hub, around each stud and in the those bolt holes. I don't always need to use a hammer when I do this.
