Shop can't read codes on 2007 RX350
Hi everyone, need your help..
Wife went in for emissions inspections and shop candle read codes with their adapter. Said they need to hook up other system to see if there is fault in wiring etc with OBD system. Said it would be $70.
Is there something I can do to troubleshoot this. I do have a digital multimeter if that would help with testing. Not sure where to start as I'm new at this.
Thank you!

Thank you. Where can I check that? Never looked in the fuse box before.
Also I hooked up my ELM 327 bluetooth adapter and ran torque pro app and it checked the codes just fine ...no codes. and all emission readiness tests are complete...
So now I'm concerned about trusting this shop ...as I thought I could. I'd still like to check the fuse box though and confirm that there are no fuse issues.

The fuse should be in the interior fuse box located in the driver's side footwell. If you crouch down and look up into the footwell from outside the vehicle, you should see the black plastic cover. It should list the fuses and what they do, but it should be fuse #5 and 7.5 amps.

Thanks ukrkoz,
I just brought it back. I called beforehand and before I could even tell them I was able to read the codes, they said they realized it was a wiring issue on their end with their equipment (after someone came in later and had the same issue.
Needless to say I don't know if I'll bring my vehicles here in the future. Why wouldn't they check that before telling my wife to pay for $70 diagnostics....
Thanks to everyone here for the wonderful advice!!

Heck, for $100 for you can order an OBD II reader off of Amazon and some adapter and plugs if there is wiring issue with the port.

Aint no way any reputable shop should charge $70 just to hook up to the OBD port and read error codes. You can go to Autozone and request a free reading.
