Default 2nd Gen RX ( one of the best looking RX generations )

Gang, I owned 2 Rx’s ( 1gen and 2gen) And after all these years, I still have an affinity to the 1st 2Gen and could not get into the Spindle grill or the more polporizing look of the new RX. I do think the older generation RX have stood the test of time and have aged well. I could afford 2 new RX but again the Grill and the sharp crease is still hard to get into. Do you still like your 2nd Gen RX ? 1gen RX ?

Cant say Im a huge fan of the RX300, but I have always liked the 04-09 RX, especially the 08-09. 2010-2012 had some oddities, but the 2013-2016s got a lot better, especially the F-Sports. Same with the current generation, with the base wheels, the car looks horrible, but with the nicer wheels and rook rack, looks great, especially those with the F-Sport treatment.

Agee totally, 2nd generation is sweet. Hate the Cow catcher look on many

of the New Lexus bodies... The 2nd generation will prove to be a classic that just keeps going.

Own a 2nd Gen RX330 and this has been the most reliable car I have ever driven. I can easily afford a brand new car, but am not a fan of the infotainment system or any of the driver assistance, lane departure feature that are becoming standard on all the new vehicle.

My love is like a hill:
like the 1st gen , really like the 2nd gen , love the 3rd gen , like a lot the 4th gen , and progressive disdain for all years afterwards. Maybe that shows my age. At first i understood why Lexus went radical but then they seemed to push it too far . I saw one yesterday from a rear 45 degree angle and it looked like it needed much more than bigger tires( wheel wells look HUGE) but it needed wider tires. To me, the 2nd gen is the perfect size and dimensions but i love the 3rd look.

Guys

I do agree part of the new Lexus evolution with styling we old timers have struggled
With probably does have to do with our age.

x generation like the more radical styling
and Lexus IS trying to capture that bigger
markrt,

that said, I do like the LC 500 and just think the new RX Is
too radical for a SUV

Precisely. Couldn't have said it better myself.

I like the post-facelifted 3rd Gen RX and the 2nd Gen RX. The 4th Gen (2015 and newer) spindle grill really not attractive and would probably age badly.

I know Lexus trying to appeal to younger affluent crowd, but their design is really alienating their long-time customers

The problem is The Spindle Grill just does not look
That great on a SUV. If you look at the new GX Lexus
SUV , that sucker is just pain Ugly in my opinion.

On The IS, GS ES and LC the SG is really awesome

The latest RX in my opinion is too extreme on certain
Angles. If you get a darker color, it is even harder on
the eye. I honestly think Lexus was at the top of their
game in the early 2000’s. All the earlier Lexus had some
of the best lines in the car industry.

The SC, ES, RX, GS LS we’re unparalleled in both quality
and design. The “L finess” was the hallmark of the golden
era for Lexus

To be honest , the new ES with the latest Spindle Grill
is not that great looking. The massive SGrill on the new ES
make the front end look way “ top heavy”.

The elegance of the earlier ES is just not there. Keep in mind
this is after the SGrill has been introduced for over 5 years

Now that they've tried to make em look so sporty, they've lost that classy look. It looks odd to me to see grandma driving around a new RX... like she's ready to race.
I dont't know if it exactly fits the younger crowd either. Maybe I'm an exception, but when I purchased one it was because I wanted those same characteristics I remembered from my prents cars.. reliability, super soft ride, super quiet rattle-free interior, high quality materials, classy looks. It's upsetting that they dont offer that at the same level anymore, as that is what brought me to this brand.
I actually like the look of the slightly sportier 2013-2015 RX's, but they lost me after that. I want just a touch of sporty, not agressive.

The Spindle Grill is here to stay for better or worse.
I just think Lexus took a big gamble when they put their
company grill across the entire line.

However, from past Sales report, Lexus IS showing their new
Grill has in fact increased sales across the line which can only
mean the new buyers are no longer the older generations like
you and me.

Other than Han the LC500 I will probably buy in the future
I unfortunately don’t think I will buy another SUV from
Lexus.

I will not be buying a new Lexus anytime soon because the Lexus dealership services leaves a lot to be desired.

That and their new spindle grill theme has really put me off from ever considering a new Lexus.

I agree with that. Although i'm not a huge fan of the new styling, thats not what really turned me off. My experience with the dealerships, and unwillingness of Lexus corporate to take any responsibilty for them doesn't really make you feel confident getting a new car with them. When something goes wrong, whats to say the dealer wont just say sorry thats normal, or that's within operating conditions, or any other phrases that basically mean sorry your SOL.
My other problem with Lexus is their drop in quality. I want a car brand that is "pursuing perfection". They should be constantly looking to improve, not looking to see what they can save some money on by downgrading or taking out. That seems crazy to me that the cars from 20 years ago are better built than what they make today.

When Lexus first came out back in the late 80’s
the LS’s quality control would put a Rolls Royce
to shame. Toyota up their game and blew all the
Germans away. The LS was quieter, faster, got better
miledge and was cheaper than an S class or 7 series.

Lexus today still holds one of the top spots in the industry
As for the corporate office, I still think Lexus IS a lot better
than any auto manufacturer out there.

I currently owned 3 Lexus and the dealers and I have
always been taken care of by Lexus.

But I do agree the specific dealership and the service
writer can make a difference.

Regarding styling, yea I am not too excited with the
current lineups but Lexus will last forever
