Replaced the mode servo to stop the noise behind my dash, now it doesn't work at all
I want to preface this post by saying I'm a layperson with no mechanical expertise, so please humor me.
I had been hearing a clicking behind the dash of my 04 RX330 for a while and finally diagnosed the problem as (you guys already know) the servo motors. Turns out the airmix servo and the mode servo were both malfunctioning. I replaced the airmix servo myself as it was very accessible but I'm not mechanically inclined so I took the mode servo to a well regarded mechanic in the area. He did the job but when I went to pick up my car he told me the replacement servo motor didn't work. I was confused as I had sourced the motor brand new, directly from a Lexus dealership. He told me that the installation went fine but when he put the new servo motor in, the car started throwing out an error code that there was a problem in either the circuitry or the control module. As a result, although it's all quiet behind my dash now, that's because the servo motor doesn't do anything anymore. It is completely non-functioning. I have no control over which vents the air comes out of. Currently, it's blowing about 50% from the top vents and the other 50% split between the defroster and the floor vents. Is this a problem anyone else has had? Does anyone have a potential solution?

Hi. Just checking to see if you ever resolved this issue? Im having a clicking noise in my dash and it might be these servo motors about which you speak. Can you point me in the right direction for how to fix them? Thanks in advance.

I have a clicking sound too and bought a replacement servo on ebay a year ago and it still sitting in the box.
After readng this thread I'm glad I didn't buy it at the dealer since if it doesn't work I'm only out $20.
Would be interesting to know if the OP got his money back from the dealer or at least a replacement because I always wondered what their policy is on electrical components like this that are returned.
