Default Lost a couple nuts ...in the rear strut area.

Quick question...I recently changed the rear struts and unbolted them through the small holes inside the rear cargo area.

I dropped a few of the nuts down the inside of the strut tower in the back and they went way down there.... I've since replaced the fasteners but I hear the lost ones rattling and moving around when taking turns etc.

Has anyone had this happen before and able to get them out?

Thanks 😊

I wish I had an anwer, but on another note, what struts did you go with and how are they?

Monroe quick struts. The back of the car kept hitting the bumpstops when we'd drive over rough undulating highway areas near our house. I actually had just bought kyb struts without the springs but when I disassembled the strut the shock was still pretty taught even after 200k. I put one side on and it was still very soft. So I sent it back and got the complete strut with the spring which is apparently what I needed. I guess the rear springs were just weak.

The car rides much more level and has considerably less sway than it did before...plus it doesn't bottom out now. It rides kind of similar to my 08 es350 which has always had a firmer ride. Overall I'm pleased and saving 400 per wheel over the dealer doesn't hurt....

Use a small telescoping magnet.

This. Can't count how many times it was the only way to get something I dropped.

I am considering the same setup for my wif's RX400. Do you notice any unusual noise on cold mornings going over bumps?

Thanks!
