Tire pressure sensor battery change
#16
It’s 2/17/2024 now. The replaced battery CR2450 still works well or has power since 04/05/2019. Almost 5 years after battery replacement.
Thanks for the reply, I actually ordered the CR2450 because both BR2450 and CR2450HR are not available. And if I order from Ali Express its going to take a month or so. Yes CR2450 of Maxell has a working condition temperature of around 100°c which is great, but it is also very expensive thus not reasonable. I can just pitch a few more dollars and get a new Autel Tpms sensor and program it. CR2450's are very nicely priced.

[QUOTE=NOVARX300;11234220]Really - the spare tire? I've had to use my spare only once with an RX300 and an RX350 in approx 12 years of driving. Changed the tire, drove less than 100 miles and had all 4 tires replaced due to catastrophic failure of the tire that had gone flat and the AWD aspect requiring changing all 4 at the same time. I think I can rely on my tire pressure gauge for any limited time I'd be driving on a spare and instead use the $40 or so savings for gas.
BTW the spare does have a tmps.......Great to replace the tires, including the spare w/ new tires after 7 yrs......Why not throw the spare in the rotation mix ?

The replaced TPMS sensor battery CR2450 is dead 02/28/2024. It lasted only almost 5 years. I don’t recommend to use CR2450. The other tires I use maxcell CR2450HR. I wish it can last longer.

I see some CR2460HR available on Ebay, however I'm hesitant to try this. I was told that the reason these are not made to be replaced is that it is essential they sensor is tightly sealed. If it is not then not only can the reading be inaccurate, but it can allow air to leak. Thoughts?

It’s CR2450HR. Sorry for typo. I only dig the glue half. The other sealed part is the pressure sensor. I tested with tire gauge. It’s accurate.
