Replacing 2005 RX-330 Air Filter Housing or Case
Greetings all,
I have a quick question on replacing the air filter housing in my 2005 RX-330. I have found a number of repair drawings that do not answer one question. The bottom section of the housing appears to have three bolt positions. Yet the repair drawings I have seen only shows a single connection point to the case. The drawings also show a single nut that goes between the filter case and bracket. For completeness, the air filter housing part number that I am referring to is 17705-0A170.
Does this mean that the bolts are inserted through the case to a nut that is integral to the bracket?
Or, is does it mean that one has to crawl under the car to somehow get to the bolt. This makes no sense as the drawings show the bracket being bolted to a mount. I cannot find a photo of the inside of the bottom section of the air filter housing.
The parts I have referred to are N1 and bracket 17119A along with the air filter housing of 17705-0A170.
So I guess underlying my question is: Can the air filter case be replaced entirely from the topside simply with the hood open?
Does anyone know of a video or detailed instructions on how to replace the air filter housing?
Inquiring minds want to know.
Thanks!
Mark
