My headlight washer button sprays water on my headlights
my rear window washer switch sprays water on my rear window
my windshield washer switch sprays water on my headlights . . . . . . yep, headlights . . . . weird . . . .
Nothing has changed with the car, no accidents, no accessories added. It just started the last time we tried to use it.
gotta be a computer setting somewhere, right? I may try to disconnect the battery tomorrow to see if that helps
windshield washer sprays headlights if headlights are on.
But it doesn't spray my windshield? Only the headlights.
Besides, I've never noticed the headlight washer coming on with the windshield washer before. Maybe it does at night and I just don't notice.

I only see one pump motor on the reservoir. How do it know when to pump water to the headlights, rear window or windshield? Is there a valve somewhere? Maybe it's stuck or bad

can you hear the pump run when you turn on the windshield washer?
I noticed the same thing in my 2008 RX 350. Now the windshield washer control sprays the windshield AND the headlights. I never noticed that simultaneous operation until about a year ago. The question is if something changed over time, or it took us both about a decade to notice it?!

Check that your windscreen washer jets are not blocked. Pull the screen washer jets upwards from the hood, Use two cardboard business cards, one at the back and one at the front of the washer jets to release the plastic retaining clips under the hood. Pull the washer jet off the plastic hose and operate the washer to see if any liquid is coming out. Good idea to put a bit of tape around the washer hose, once you have pulled it out, to stop it falling back into the inner recesses of the hood.
Worked for me---bought a pair of new washer jets off Ebay for around $6.00. Don't bother with buying Lexus original parts
I looked up the fuses, but found that #34 controls the wipers AND the washer pump. Wipers work . . . .so it wouldn't be the fuse. It's hard to hear the pump with the wipers going, but I don't think it is working. I guess that means the motor is bad.
I can only see one pump, but from the online diagrams it looks like this RX350 has two pumps. Makes sense, since the headlights and rear window both work.
Thanks for your input. Helped me think this thing through . . . .
Finally getting around to working on this problem. Now I see that I have 3 washer pumps. Two on the back and one in the front. After reading this post https://www.clublexus.com/forums/rx-...r-problem.html I assume the front pump is for the windshield. I checked for 12V to one of the wires and it is good.
It seems to look like the pump has gone bad. However, all diagrams I find online show the pump being mounted vertical. Mine mounts horizontal. I can't find a part number for it.
Fixed it.
The pump was fine (after I removed and tested it, duh!)
the two sprayer heads were clogged. Used compressed air to blow them out and now all is fine.
Yes, the headlight sprayers only work when the headlights are on. Don't look at them if you have someone else pushing the button . . . . trust me on that one . . . .
