Slow start, gas pedal required on start for RX 2009 350
I'm brand new here with a 10-year-old RX350 and hellbent on keeping it another 10 years.
First help request: There are a number of possible causes I found in this forum that could be the problem I’m having with my 2009 RX350. Fuel line. Fuel pump. Fuses?
My car sporadically needs a pedal pump when I'm trying to start it. Mostly when it’s sat overnight, every now and then when it’s only been a couple of hours. But, it’s becoming increasingly more frequent. Sounds like a fuel line issue? But now maybe not, I'm told by a mechanic.
Weather is not the issue. Battery is fine. Terminals were changed. My mechanic told me to “test” it over a few days by turning the ignition, but not starting the car, three times (kind of like priming it???) before turning on the car. That worked half the time, or it appeared to.
So, could someone listen to the attached video and give me a guesstimate as to what it might sound like the problem COULD be? I’m going to take it back to the mechanic for a day-long diagnostic no matter what, but I would like to have a knowledgeable edge when I do.
Help?
