My RX350 will not start
So I have a 2008 Lexus RX350, this morning I get into my car and it will not start, does not turn over, does not crank, no solenoid click. So I plug up my battery charger to the battery, dash lights come on but no auxiliary power anywhere, radio will not turn on, windows will not go up or down either. Only power I can see is in the dash. Anybody have any ideas as to what the issue could be? Any help would be awesome.

It happened to my wife's 08 RX350 2 weeks ago, it will not start, does not turn over, does not crank and no solenoid click, but all the lights and radio was on but fading. Tried to jump started it with some cheap old cable for 5 minutes and still wouldn't budge. My buddy brought in a set of heavy duty 1 gauge cable and it started right up. Next morning went to Costco, bought a new battery and ordered a new set of 1 gauge cables from Amazon. No problem ever since.

Check the voltage on your battery. It has to show 13V+. If lower, the battery can not produce enough current to crank the starter. How old is your battery? What brand is it?

I did not even pay attention to that, about to go out to it right now, will let you know in a bit. Was thinking it may be a some sort of security immobilizer so I didn't think to check.

I agree with most of the others; that has sorta happened to me in the past and sure enough it was the battery. All I can say is thank goodness for AAA. called them they sent out a battery vehicle and a new one was put in and that solved the problem. Around here in Arizona where its blazing hot during the summer; if yer lucky a battery will last 2 to maybe 2.5 years. Also; its not just extreme heat; extreme cold will do a number on car batteries also. IMO; if u are planning on keeping the vehicle for 2-3 years or more i might consider going with a optima battery as those are extremely heavy duty and last a long time but they arent cheap for that reason.

Okay so I borrowed a multimeter from a buddy and it is showing 1.076 volts. So the battery is completely dead. I called up the dealership I bought it from and the sent me a receipt showing the battery was replaced around a month before I purchased it when it went into their inventory. I am thinking then that it is the alternator? Any other ideas?

One of my buddy works for a car dealership and this is what they use to jump start cars that has been sitting too long in the lots. He has one in his daughter's car. $272+tax though.

Thanks for the help guys. I am putting in a new battery to see of that fixes the issue. the temperature had a major drop recently so I am thinking that may have caused the issue for the battery maybe. Will let you know if that fixes it. Thanks again for all the help and input. Much appreciated.

If you eventually get it started, with a mutimeter, you can measure the charging voltage and amps. Whatever the result is will tell you if it is the alternator. Charging voltage should be 14.2 to 14.6 volts. If it much less, it may point to a bad alternator.
