Why does my trunk beep when opens and closes on its own?

Default Why does my trunk beep when opens and closes on its own?
I opened the trunk using the remote fob. When it extends to the top, it automatically closes and starts beeping down to close. Why does it do that?

Cautionary signal that there is a movement and therefore warns people to pay attention for any pinch point issue. It is a safety requirement for newer cars.

Are you asking why does it beep, or why does it automatically close ( implying it does not stay up and open ?) if the latter, perhaps your rear hatch struts are weak. you can search this forum for several previous threads on the topic of replacing the hatch struts .

Replacing the shocks fixed mine from closing automatically too.
Very easy DIY job,
