What Fuses Are Good to Use for a Dashcam on the RX 400H
I got the Viofo A129 Duo Dashcam with a parked mode kit. The parked mode kit requires me to connect:
- one wire to a fuse that receives constant power, even when the car is off
- one wire to a fuse that receives power only when the car is turned on
- one wire to a grounded piece metal part
The last one is easy to do, but I don't know what fuses to use for the first and second. I will likely have to use the fuse box that is in the passenger cabin, as A LOT of dismantling would need to be done so before I can route the cables from the passenger cabin to the fuse box in the engine bay.

If you are brave enough, there's 12v constant, 12v ACC, and 12v ON right at the key cylinder harness. I had to tap these for my 330's remote start. While I understand yours is a 400H, the key harness should be very similar or a very easy test if you have a multimeter. Just run an inline fuse after the tap.
I would avoid going through the firewall at all costs. Just ran power cable for my sub amp and front bumper camera for my NX200t, it SUCKS. For the dash cam I kept everything inside the interior.

Nope went winter came along I put away the dashcam. Been thinking about installing it lately. I identified various points when looking at cabling in the cabin, where I could afix to a screw. AFAIK, just about any spot where a screw is going into metal :P

I have a pretty good multimeter that I dont know how to use unfortunately I previously tried a whole bunch of fuses inside the cabin and couldn't get the dashcam to turn on in parking mode. Only a usb connection to the cigarette lighter worked for regular operation mode.
I had not previously known this, but the parking kit's Battery and ACC wire fuses have an orientation; I had the problem before of reading ~0 V from their nodes.
Now, I got the dashcam to power on and operate in parking mode as well using the following fuses:
Battery wire (always powered): FUEL OPN
ACC wire (powered when vehicle on): RADIO NO. 2
