Headlight Leveling Bypass
So a few months back I had light came on to check the Automatic headlight leveling system. I ignored it as it was not affecting headlights. But now the warning light is gone but headlights just stay pointed downwards.
It is getting really difficult to drive in late-night on a hilly road.
I looked at the manual to adjust the level of the headlight vertically and followed the instructions but that did not do it.
when I start the car I can see headlight moves up and down and then stays pointed downwards.
it seems the sensor that operates which is located on the rear passenger side is bad and has to get it replaced. Now I don't care for headlights to go up and down I would be fine with them having just straight.
does anyone have insight into adjusting headlights manually? I heard I can disconnect motor(I am not sure of the connection to headlight) that drives headlights and that might help but still, it won't help to get headlight straight.
Thanks in advanced.

Ok cool I have the same car so I scanned these from the 2004 RX330 electrical manual.
>> I know nothing about the headlight leveling systems but there appears to be two versions of it- and- they both have leveling motor.
#1: Adaptive Headlights- these have a leveling motor and a swivel motor and much more complicated(see below).
#2: Auto leveling headlights- much simpler and leveling motor only(but wie colors are different).
Here are the wire color codes.
Here is Adaptive lighting- Next 3 pages.

>> And here is Auto-Leveling(without Adaptive)
Maybe someone knows if you can do away with those complicated gizmos and just put in a regular headlight(Ebay less than $100 New).
