pcv valve(s)? symptoms? and how many of them?
Hi everyone, i was curious to know what are some of the symptoms of a failing pcv valve? i know there is the one right in front below the engine top cover (next to front ignition coils). I took that one out to have a look, it was quite dark, it did rattle lightly. i sprayed it with throttle body cleaner. What other signs that would show it going bad? will it throw a CEL?
also, is there just this one? or another? (seeing as it's a v6 engine not inline 4)? might the other one be the thicker tube that passes under the air intake assembly?
if there are 2, what's the part number? are they the same?
also, do they affect oil consumption?

PCV valves are not expensive, replace them for peace of mind.
