got a great deal on a RX. Was wondering since I can’t seem to get an answer. Is the strut mount for the air strut in the front replaceable or is it the entire strut? Picture of the actual strut seem like it’s replaceable but I was told other wise. There is a clunking noise from what appears to be the strut mount. No leaks or what so ever on the air suspension as of now.
I'd think it would have a replaceable strut mount....It is a Mcstrut after afterall.....Doesn't make sense to have to buy the whole assembly, if your strut mount went out. There is bearings in there so your vehicle can turn.....
Lexus did not make the strut mount for air suspension available separately. If it needed strut mount pretty much need to order the entire air strut. Yes there is a mount and bearing but there is no way to press the bearing out because it had a tapered fit on one side. I took the Strut mount out hoping to just change the bearing but could not.
luckily I did some research and found an aftermarket company that made the strut mount on eBay but from Europe. Could not find anyone else that carries it but this eBay seller from Europe. Ordered and came 4 days later from Europe and installed it and noise is gone!

unfortutnaly no pics except the one I bought. That is the one you need for air strut. Looks completely different compared to a strut/spring mount. eBay from Europe one fit perfectly. Luckily I have a buddy that works at dealer and he’s able to remove that strut in less then 30 min lol.
Wow, I would have thought they'd use the same mounts as the regular ones.
that’s what I thought but no definitely does not fit. I bought the car so cheap but didn’t want to spend the $900 on an air strut. If I couldn’t find it I would have swapped over to spring and strut. Now I’m waiting till a problem arises with the air suspension before deciding to swap to strut and springs.
Here is a pic of my old strut mount 2004 RX330.
I replaced with KYB but the included bearings(see pic below) felt cheap and junky/noisy so I reused my old ones at 151k miles because they were better.
Add >> This is Non Air mount for Comparison... Obvious differences compare pics.

yeap. It’s different from the air suspension. See how the center is different ?
Seems like the KYB strut mounts aren't good on these vehicles either.....A few other different Mcstrut vehicles also have issues/problems w/ that brand of strut mounts also. Must be a KYB problem.......I use the factory strut mounts depending on the vehicle. For the Gen3 Camaro's & foxbody's there are plenty of great aftermarket strut mounts that work great.
The KYB strut mounts were 50% the cost of oem and included a bearing which the OEM's don't but the bearing is worthless $1 junk.
Time will tell if the mounts hold up but for anyone wondering- The OEM Bearing Does Fit The KYB Strut Mount- I emailed lexus/part dealers and they didn't know so I thought
I would add that for anyone considering the KYB mount and add OEM bearings.

just wanted ppl to know in case ppl see this thread. I’m only talking about the air suspension - the strut mounts are different from above post. Don’t get confused. Air suspension require strut mount specific to it and no one has it. Had to buy on eBay from Europe.
the strut mount posted above is only from regular strut/spring NOT for the air suspension.
Hello everyone, I confirm that the support is specific for air suspension. Here in Italy it is sold by the manufacturer FEBEST, whose code is TSS-MCU35F. The cost is 65 euros + shipping. I don't know if they ship to the USA ... I hope I've been helpful
