Default Is there a buffer on top of strut?

Hi guys, i had posted before my rear struts making noise. I got to thinking, between the top of the strut assembly and where it goes into the body of the car, is there a rubber bushing of sorts? If so, does the whole strut assembly need to be opened up to get to this rubber bushing? Or can the bushing easily be changed?
Thanks
fab

The upper insulator/mount looks like this

Yes the strut has to be disassembled to get to it.
