Default Windows not working at all - where is the fuse?

Hi,

After changing the battery the windows will not work at all, not from the drivers control panel or from each individual door. So its not a question of resetting them by doing a manual roll down and up - they are completely dead.

I checked all the fuse boxes, but did not see anything that looked like it related to the windows. I checked over a good few fuses, anything that looked remotely liked it could be related, and they were all good.

Are the power window fuses somewhere else outside of the 4 main fuse boxes? Its an RX 400h 2006.

Thanks.

Some related threads that might help. Know yours may be slightly different since it sounds like the individual doors don't work either. Try disconnecting and reconnecting the battery after a 30 minute wait as well as noted in one of the threads where someone had something similar.

Thanks for the links - I got a little bored searching for the answer as 99.9% of the time the answer is about resetting the auto feature by manually rolling down and up. I did find 1 or 2 references to windows not working at all, but no real answers to those questions.

Will try another battery disconnect/reconnect and see if that helps - was already thinking that.

And thanks for the diagram - I checked the rear door fuses, but did not guess that PWR was a related fuse, so I will check that one too.

Hey:
I had this issue a few months ago when the battery went completely dead (another issue). It was solved by resetting the power windows by fully opening and closing each individual window from it's own door and then trying it from the drivers door. I can't remember if I saw it in the manual or on Google.

Good luck!

As I said in the OP - the individual doors are not working either.

I tried disconnecting the battery for half and hour, but that did not result in any improvement.

Thinking maybe the controller has given up - is the control unit inside the drivers door? Perhaps it could even be a loose connection, if I unplug it and give it a clean then reconnect it - fingers crossed.

Also found this repair manual, its for an LHS vehicle, 2005. Mine is RHS 2006 but still useful:

https://cardiagn.com/2005-lexus-rx40...repair-manual/

If anyone has a link for the 2006 RHS one that could be handy.

I have managed to fix it. It turned out to be the connector to the control panel in the drivers door was loose - I began to suspect after driver window was sometimes temperamental after opening that door. Repair manual also suggests checking all connections. The control panel is easy to get off by wiggling a screw driver under it.
