The cam spins in a cam carrier, and it and the timing cover are sealed with FIPG (silicone), and they may leak eventually, but not gushing. Worry about your bank 1 VVTi lines or oil cooler line (if equipped, tow package).

yea i learned yesterday from the manager of the shop i go to down the street that i shouldnt worry about that as the most common reason for that seal to break loose is when people modify their engines to try and get more hp and torque out of them. on another note where are these vvti lines so i can look to see if they are metal or rubber?

A quick look on the passenger side, you'll see the external oil lines.....after you remove the passenger side cover which I don't use.....
