Default Power lift tailgate advice

Hey there - looking for some advice on our 2008 RX350 with a power liftgate issue. The buttons on the remote and in-car are not working to activate the power lift gate. I have tried the switch on the inside of the glovebox and repeated with the buttons - still not working. My trunk will open and close manually without issue.

I have also stood near the rear driver-side of the cal, and when I push the tunk button I hear a faint click, but nothing else.

Looking for advice. I'm thinking it's the entire motor assembly for the power trunk/lift, but not sure. Just want to check with the crowd to see if others have had this issue.

Thanks in advance!

hearing a clicking sound; yea that sorta tells me that it could very well be the motor that is done.

When you open the back door/tail gate manually half way, will it stay open? If not, you may have weak gas struts. The motor cannot lift the door without the help of those struts. It will try, but will immediately shut down because of the overload.

I'm getting the same problem as you are. And I figured out how to resolve this problem.

Here is the video on how to resolve it.

However, the Part that he tried to share to everyone on that video is wrong. After I read a couple of comment then I found out which part number is that. This is the part number : 68910-0E014

Further, I'm living in Vietnam, it seem really hard for me to find something like this on amazon and bring it back to Vietnam to solve this problem. So I have two link for you. I found it myself for about 2 hours lol.

It really helps. Hoping you can solve it. I would buy it on Taobao, because it's easier for me to buy. You can buy it on amazon or other links that available if you're looking for this motor online.

on Amazon

Make sure you change your struts. I thought I had the same problem on my 400. The hatch opened 2”s beeped and gave up. New struts are going in soon.

The struts have a 600nm ejection power and do a lot of the opening work.

Then the motor overcomes the ejection to close. That’s where the motor does it’s real work.

If your gate closes but doesn’t open try the easier less expensive struts route

don't get the strong arm brand. I got those and had problems closing the hatch. They are evidently too strong. Exchanged them for a different brand and problems went away.
